Program

After breakfast, departure to the city center. Visit the traditional and emblematic Mercado dos Lavradores market , where the flowers, fruits and fish will leave you dazzled. Exit in the direction of Santa Maria Street , an open-air museum, with the “Art of Open Doors” project, along its historic streets, in which its doors have been painted or have been intervened in some way by countless artists. At the cable car stationwhich will take us to Monte. The highlight here is the magnificent panoramic view of the city of Funchal and the sea that the 550 meters of altitude have to offer. Cooler air hangs in and a quiet environment is for some an added value that Monte has to offer. It is in this locality also that the famous toboggans . You won’t want to miss this opportunity! Back in the city center, stop at a Wine Cellar to recover from your emotions. Visit and tasting of Madeira wines. Lunch at a local restaurant. Passage through an Embroidery Factory. Madeira Embroidery pieces have a history and tradition associated with the “luxury” segment and many tables of the European aristocracy were decorated. Visit of the botanical garden which, in addition to the endemic species of the island, also has a beautiful collection of plants and flowers from all over the world.

After breakfast, transfer to Câmara de Lobos, where you will discover this fishing town. Continuing to Cabo Girão and Ribeira Brava . Passage through places like Ponta do Sol and Calheta with its sandy beach brought from the African desert. Continuing inland to reach the higher and unique plateau of the island, Paúl da Serra . Stop in Porto Moniz where we will have lunch in a local restaurant and we still have the opportunity to visit the famous natural pools. Stop at the town of San Vicente. Before returning to the hotel, stop at Encumeada, where, on a clear day, we can enjoy beautiful views of both sides of the island. Departure for an evening with a festive atmosphere! The cuisine and folklore will guarantee you an unforgettable night. Enjoy our espetada (kebab), fried corn, among other regional specialties.
After breakfast, transfer from the hotel to the city center. Attended the Wall of Hope Ceremony , during which thousands of children, dressed as they should, parade. Breakfast in a local restaurant. Departure to Eira do Serrado , which offers one of the best places on the island with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains Visit to the village Curral das Freiras (Valley of the Nuns), one of the most emblematic villages of our island. they will have the opportunity to taste the typical Ginja and Chestnut Cake. Last stop at Pico dos Barcelo one of the best views of the amphitheater in Funchal. Return to the hotel.
After breakfast, free morning. You attend the Allegorical Procession of Flowers , one of the most important and anticipated events of all the festivities, both by visitors and locals, which has been carried out since 1979 Return to the hotel.

After breakfast, departure to Pico Arieiro , the second highest peak on the island with 1810m. Descent to Ribeiro Frio . Free time to walk. Depart for Faial , where lunch will take place. Stop in Santana, known for its typical houses with thatched roofs. Departure towards Porto da Cruz , stop for a walk in the village. Passage through Machico , the first capital of Madeira, where the navigators who discovered in 1420 landed .
After breakfast, departure from the hotel to the marina of Funchal. Nau Santa Maria , a replica of Christopher Columbus’ ship. Caravel trip. Breakfast in a local restaurant. Continuation of your day to Cristo Rei located in Garajau. Next stop Santo da Serra for the visit of its garden. Return to the hotel.
At the agreed time (the transfer takes place 2h30 before the departure time of the flight), we will leave the hotel in the direction of the airport for your return flight.
What to see at this flower festival?
Dozens of allegorical floats , adorned with a multitude of flowers typical of the island of Madeira, leave sweet and ephemeral perfumes in the air – this is the great procession of the Flower. At the same time, the artists of Madeira are busy making unforgettable carpets of flowers strategically displayed in the streets. Window decoration competitions are also organised.
